The old TTL prisms for KIEV-88 produced till 1990 have very high-quality optical glass and precision metering. The only one problem lies with the special battery of 6 volts. These batteries are no longer available. Therefore if you want to use the old TTL prism, it is NECESSARY for you to have this adapter. Just load 4 regular R44 batteries and use your perfect TTL prism on your Kiev-88 series camera successfully. It is closed hermetically. It protects the prism from accidental chemical leakage. The metal cover is screwed on the adapter. 
Put battery adapter into cavity on TTL prism. 
The battery adapter must be installed into the cavity with the negative side facing towards the cover.
